Conveyor Bridge F60

Between Lauchhammer and Finsterwalde you will find a new „light house“. You will see it from a far distance. It is 502 m long, 202 m wide and 80 m high, its weight is 11.000 t. The retired conveyor bridge is the biggest of its kind in the world and is located on the shores of an old open-top mining area nearby Klettwitz. After being used as a conveyor bridge for one year, it was planned to be scraped. Citizens and their communities had the idea of a conveyor bridge as an exhibition mine which they put into action.
Nowadays the F60 is a must-see spot in the Elbe-Elster-Land. With light shows and events on the weekend the number of visitors increases.

Since 2006 the conveyor bridge F60 is an important part of the European industrial heritage (ERIH). In 2007 the Energy Route was founded, since then the F60 is a highlight on this tour. You pass the F60 by cycling in Brandenburg on the Prince-Pückler Path, on the Niederlausitzer Bergbautour, on the Coal, Wind and Water Tour and on the Energy Route.
